The designer’s trace across the austral territory

My work is born from a perspective that brings together design, matter, territory and the body.

For years, I have observed how the forms of nature — an eroded rock, a coastline, a mountain, a salt flat, a crack or a mineral texture — can become language, volume and, finally, a piece worn on the skin.

Trazo Austral was born from that search: to transform the territories of Chile into author jewelry in silver 950.

From landscape to body

Each collection interprets a different territory of Chile: Atacama, the Pacific, Tierra, Patagonia and the Islands.

I am passionate about translating these territories into textures, reliefs, voids, edges, curves and surfaces — and bringing them into a jewel.

Author design in silver 950

Each jewel begins with a trace.

Then comes volume, modeling, testing, casting and manual finishing.

I work with silver 950 for its nobility, luminosity and ability to receive texture. Some pieces incorporate enamel or color to express depth, water, sky or territorial memory.

Artisanal process

Each piece is part of an artisanal and creative process where contemporary design, craft and material sensitivity coexist.

A jewel to inhabit the body

I believe jewelry is the only sculpture lived on the body.

That is why each Trazo Austral piece seeks to accompany the person who wears it — not only as a beautiful object, but as a symbol of identity, strength and belonging.
